Visitors approaching York from the A64 should turn off at the A1079 exit marked University/Science Park. After crossing two sets of traffic lights, ensure you are in the left lane signposted University.
At the roundabout take the first exit, signposted University / Science Park. Continue straight for approx. 1 mile and at roundabout take 3rd exit signposted A1079/York/Campus Central. At subsequent roundabout take last exit. You are now entering the Science Park. The IT Centre is at the end of the road off the first roundabout turning.
You can park in any of the 4 car parks outside the IT Centre, the Innovation Centre, the Bio Centre and Enterprise House.
York is on the main East Coast Line from London King's Cross to Edinburgh. Fast trains leave from both north and south at frequent intervals. There is also a direct service across the Pennines between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport. The University is two miles from the railway station and you will need to get a bus or taxi onto campus.
A journey by taxi from the railway station to the University will take approximately 15 minutes. There is a taxi rank just outside the station.
You can reach York by coach from many destinations around the country. National Express buses stop at the railway station. A number of companies operate buses, which have stops close to the Science Park: the Nos. 4 and 24 depart from the railway station. The scheduled journey time from the railway station to Heslington is 20 minutes. Other services are the Y27, Y28 C2 and 64A. The main bus station is at Rougier Street.
The University is well served with cycle paths and is currently improving cycle access and storage facilities. Cycle racks are available in most parts of campus.
